Higher Pesticides, Lower Fertility

May 4, 2020 | Fertility, Lifestyle

Did you know that women who ate more than two servings of high-pesticide fruits and vegetables each day were 18% less likely to become pregnant, and 26% less likely to have a live birth than women with less exposure to pesticides according to a study published in 2018.

Since fruits and veggies are an important part of a diet that optimizes fertility, here’s a list of the 15 lowest in pesticides (The Environmental Working Group’s 2020 Clean 15 list):

  1. Avocado
  2. Sweet Corn*
  3. Pineapple
  4. Onions
  5. Papaya*
  6. Sweet peas, frozen
  7. Eggplant
  8. Asparagus
  9. Cauliflower
  10. Cantaloupe
  11. Broccoli
  12. Mushrooms
  13. Cabbage
